Good evening,

 

After the sucessfull operation from Tromelin island (FT4TA), we will be back on the airwaves for 2 complete weeks from Juan de Nova island in March/April 2016 with the callsign FT4JA.

 

The team include Seb F5UFX, Vincent F4BKV, Flo F5CWU, Guillaume F4FET, Michel FM5CD, Jacques F6BEE, Yann F1NGP, Patrick F2DX and Pascal F5PTM. A 10th operator will be added soon.

 

We built a website  ( http://www.juandenovadx.com/en/ ) and we keep adding new infos as soon as possible.

 

Unfortunately, this project is very costly, mostly because of the transport and lack of facilities on the island. The last budget sheet shows an envellope of 130K US$ at least. In spite of important optimizations, we are not able to reduce it.

 

We know that 2015 is a very difficult year for clubs, associations and commercial sponsors because many operations from rare DXCC will take place. Already many clubs promised a donation to the other projects and we know that the finances are not extendable.

 

Even if the economical situation is difficult, we decided to do not postpone our operation to make this operation with the best propagation level  possible . We tried to negociate for another window (october/november 2015) but we gave up because of the birds migration on the island. From december to march, there's no mission allowed to stay on the island because of the hurricane season.

 

You will find in attachement a presentation of the project.

 

We would be happy to count the Top Band DX Club among our sponsors. Of course, sponsors will be displayed on the website, QSL, vidéo and articles.

 

This operation depends only on the support of the hamradio community  even if this one is put at contribution this year in an exceptional way because as of many operations which will take place. We also opened a page for personnal donators ( http://www.juandenovadx.com/en/how-to-help-us/ ).
