Congratulations to all the winners and thank you for your participation in the contest. The excellent band conditions over the PHONE weekend resulted in a record number of PHONE logs along with the highest level of PHONE activity ever recorded in the contest on the 10M band. New records were set for the numbers of PHONE logs from Australia, Indonesia and the Philippines. There was also a heightened level of activity in both the PHONE and CW sections from rarer Oceania entities including V84, 9M6, T32, KH2, KH7, V63, DU, 5W, A35 and YJ. This increased activity from Oceania stations is encouraging, as growing Oceania participation is critical for attracting more participation from stations outside Oceania. OCDX CONTEST RECORDSA total of 49 new continent records and 213 new country records were set in the 2014 contest. Many of the new records relate to the new QRP categories that were introduced in the 2014 contest. A detailed list of all the continent and country records is published on our web site at www.oceaniadxcontest.com/results.htm . 2014 CERTIFICATESCertificates have been awarded to the top scoring station in each category for each continent and country. Additionally, a participation certificate identifying the number of successful QSOs has been awarded to each station that participated in the contest. The certificates are available online for downloading and printing by individual entrants at their convenience. The web links to the certificates are published on our web site at www.oceaniadxcontest.com/2014_Results.htm . Note: Printed certificates are no longer delivered via the postal service except in response to written requests from entrants who won a category in their country and made more than 10 QSOs in that category. Any such requests are to be emailed to info@oceaniadxcontest.com and must be received by 31 August 2015. 2014 PLAQUES AND TROPHIESHere are the winners of the 2014 OCDX contest trophies and plaques: OCEANIA PHONE SO ALL Ron Wills ZL2TT Memorial Trophy - VK4QHOCEANIA PHONE SO 40M Plaque - YB0NDTOCEANIA PHONE M1 Neil Penfold VK6NE Memorial Plaque – VK4NM (VK4NM, VK4LAT)OCEANIA PHONE M2 Plaque – VK4KW (VK4BAA, VK4NDX, VK4NEF, VK4SN)OCEANIA PHONE Newcomer Plaque - VK5SFAOCEANIA CW SO ALL Plaque - VK2IMOCEANIA CW SO ALL LP Plaque - VK2BJOCEANIA CW SO 40M Plaque - 5W1SAOCEANIA CW M2 Plaque – ZM1A (ZL1AIH, ZL1GO, ZL3CW, ZL3WW)OCEANIA CW Newcomer Plaque - VK4LATAUSTRALIA PHONE SO ALL HP Plaque - VK4QHAUSTRALIA PHONE SO ALL LP Plaque - VK3EWAUSTRALIA PHONE VK5 SO ALL LP Plaque - VK5PASAUSTRALIA CW SO ALL Frank Hine VK2QL Memorial Trophy - VK2IMAUSTRALIA CW VK5 SO ALL LP Plaque - VK5LJAUSTRALIA Club Plaque - Geelong Amateur Radio Club (VK3ACG, VK3ALB, VK3BA, VK3BCL, VK3DJ, VK3DQW, VK3FGIR, VK3FJEN, VK3FUNY, VK3FWDS, VK3FWGR, VK3HQ, VK3NCC, VK3NRW, VK3NW, VK3OB, VK3PK, VK3PY, VK3QM, VK3TU, VK3WK, VK3ZIB)NEW ZEALAND Club Plaque - The Quake Contesters (ZL3AB, ZL3CC, ZL3GK, ZL3PAH)NORTH AMERICA PHONE SO ALL Plaque - K3TWNORTH AMERICA CW SO ALL Plaque - K3PA/0ASIA PHONE SO ALL Plaque - RT0FASIA PHONE M2 Plaque - no eligible entryASIA CW SO ALL Plaque - RT0FASIA CW M2 Plaque - no eligible entryEUROPE PHONE SO ALL Plaque - RS3AEUROPE CW SO ALL Frank Vander Drift VK3COF Memorial Plaque - UA5CSWL PHONE Plaque - Patrick Marteville F-59706 LOG CHECKING REPORTSA log checking report is produced for each entry in the contest. VK6DXI SILENT KEYWe are sad to report that the 2014 contest was the last one in which Mirek Rozbicki VK6DXI (formerly SP5IXI) will participate. Mirek was an enthusiastic participant and supporter of the OCDX contest for many years, including being a member of the OCDX contest committee since 2006. He was the generous sponsor of the Frank Vander Drift VK3COF Memorial Plaque for the highest scoring station from Europe in the CW SO ALL category, and was instrumental in establishing the VKCC award for the top scoring VK club in the contest. We are pleased to advise that Slawek Barciuk VK3CTN has kindly offered to pick up the ongoing sponsorship of the plaque for the Europe CW SO ALL category and this will now be known as the VK6DXI Memorial Plaque - in recognition and memory of Mirek’s significant contribution to the OCDX contest and amateur radio contesting more generally. 2015 OCDX CONTESTThe next OCDX contest will be held on the first two full weekends of October 2015 as follows: PHONE: 08:00 UTC Saturday 3 October to 08:00 UTC Sunday 4 OctoberCW: 08:00 UTC Saturday 10 October to 08:00 UTC Sunday 11 October The rules for the 2015 contest will shortly be published on our web site at www.oceaniadxcontest.com/rules.pdf.
